AN EXCLUSIVE, ONE-OFF GIG WITH SIMON FOWLER OF OCEAN COLOUR SCENE SATURDAY 16 NOVEMBER!

Simon Fowler of Ocean Colour Scene is playing a one-off solo evening to debut new tunes from his own band, Merrymouth’s, forthcoming second album at No.1 Shakespeare Street ,Stratford Upon Avon on Saturday 16 November.

Simon has booked an impromptu acoustic evening to perform at No.1 Shakespeare Street. Along with the songs from Merrymouth’s album due for release next year, he will also play a large selection of Ocean Colour Scene hits and tracks from their latest album ‘Painting’.

Simon says, ‘Very much looking forward to playing at No.1 again.

“It’s a brilliant venue which offers me the opportunity to showcase locally some of my new work from the forthcoming second Merrymouth album along with the enjoyment of playing the OCS hits and crowd favourites,’ adds Simon who lives in Warwickshire.

Simon formed Merrymouth in 2010 so that he could focus on his love of folk music and includes Dan Smith from OCS.  Their first album was released in 2012.

Simon has had a very busy year with OCS, touring Spain and performing at many of the UKs major festivals including Beautiful Days, T in the Park, and headlining on the main stages at V Festival, Ireland’s Electric Picnic, and Moseley Folk Festival.

OCS embarks on a fast selling-out UK tour in November which concludes two days before Christmas.  Simon will follow this with a Merrymouth mini tour to promote the new album release next year.  Dates to be confirmed.

The very talented folk and blues singer/songwriter Jack Blackman, 19, from Alcester, who played on stage with Paul Jones’ Blues Band when he was just 14, is the support act.
